A perfect example of "slow and steady...". I know it is not a race to the finish, and we don't win anything other than a great feeling of satisfaction. Beautiful work.

RNZAF paint scheme slowly developing. Might have been easier to blow up some decals !

That would also be an excellent plane to model on RTD.I'll look forward to seeing the pics.

Thats awesome, I was thinking of painting mine in the colors of the wairarapa wildcat.

Yup, will be finished as P-40N Gloria Lyons, RNZAF, Solomon Islands. The real aircraft in original condition is located in a barn not 20 minutes from where I live.

Very nice, I'm assuming RNZAF colors?

The antenna (bunny ears) is an after market job sold at most electronic/appliance shops for about $20 but in this case was sourced at my favourite place, the recycling shop. Cost I think was $1. The mesh is the filter mesh in a common old tap fitting - about $5 for a pack of 4 at the Hardware centre.

What kind of tv did you get the antenna from?

Where did you get the mesh from?

a $2 investment at the recyling centre got an old flexible lamp stand. Put a screw in socket in the belly of the P-40 and we have the makings of a desk stand that can be easily adjusted to put the model in any attitude. Needs some refinement but the principle works okay. Have also made a plug cover for the socket in case the model is displayed without the stand.

Poppy, I'm tempted to challenge you to a reverse race : ) Good point Creosotewind, I'm sure we have all "dacker dacker dackered" our cats when "flying" around the room. Mine just roll their eyes and go back to sleep.
Creosotewind, Comment for image # 2024924 Nov 10 08:54
Well, Poppy, you can hold it in your hands and run around the room going "vrrrrrooooooom" and make machine gun noises. Just don't let your wife see you doing that. This is one nice build.
