I think we use to start our glow plug duct engines with a belt to the duct spinner. |

It has a pull starter. I'll get a photo in a bit. |

I wonder how you would start the .049 engine, cause you have to turn the prop over with your fingers? |

Perhaps someone knows when they were first used, I do not:-) |

It came with two "impellers" and is designed to fly using an .049 gas engine. |

In addition to this one, Berkeley also made ducted fan kits of the F-11 Tiger, F-8 Crusader, and T-33. Reports I've read indicate they were not good flyers. |

did it come with the duct prop, david, does it have a flying option? what size is it about? |

Just for reference, the inside diameter of the plywood ring is 3 3/4". I used a broom handle to curl the stiff paper lining the duct and it fit quite well. |

The cone structure was covered, badly, with the supplied stiff paper and painted just to be able to see it. Of course, it will all be covered anyway but.... |

Yes it is a pretty aircraft and it will have an appropriate paint scheme to show it off, as well.

I loved this aircraft when I was a boy of 13. Still do! |
