Not the first time WestJet has done things like this, they are very customer oriented.
Xanadu, Comment for image # 3600506 May 16 21:16
Yup, WestJet really works with their customers.

Its great to see a true gift humanity of reaching out to those in need and be flexible enough to allow the owner's furry friends on board. Thanks DD for sharing this. I didn't see it on CNN or another other news outlet.

Pima's also going to be on my list. Was there about 25 years ago and most of their collection was outside. I know it's huge, but hope they hangar this one before its too late. This was the airline that was most affected by the lithium battery issues. They had to ground their entire fleet of -787's for several months while they scrambled for other aircraft to use in its place. Nice picture, DD.

For those of us that know you, David, you are no small part. I may threaten a visit.
David Duckett, Comment for image # 3599604 May 16 10:24
I think it's either the first or second one made.

Probably an early development machine? Lots of cycles on it?

That museum is on my list.

Life's too short to be a one trick pony. I really don't think about what style a painting is in. The precision required for poster type art is the same as a model except I can't use masking tape on canvas for clean lines. And while those take lots of time, an abstract can be done quickly, if I'm lucky. Of course, it's not about time involved. Snapping a photo takes even less time but does require some awareness of what's happening around you. The Ironwood tree drops its leaves in Spring, makes these gorgeous flowers, and then puts on new leaves. The mountains around here are dramatically affected by the shadows caused by clouds. Being able to see 60 miles or more in all directions is an amazing thing and gets even more so when Summer monsoons roll across the valley with enough lightning and thunder to please even Wagner. At night, you can see more stars than you can imagine exist and you can easily see 5 of the planets as they move through the sky. And it's very quiet. I'm fortunate that so many things interest me and I'm thankful that I get to be a small part of it.

Some of the greatest works of art in the world are still hidden in private collector's homes and vaults. This is one of them.

Beautiful Mr. DD. Your ability to shift from precise details in painting such works of art as the poster for Xanadu's niece, then shift to abstract, to taking the time to share the beauty of life itself, in inspiring. Always admired your work. Thank you so much

Pretty cool piece for sure!
David Duckett, Comment for image # 3599103 May 16 15:02
Thank you. World class is a bit of hyperbole but there are 41 original paintings and 25 or so completed models in the house. :-)

Looks as though you are turning your beautiful home into a world-class art gallery with subjects ranging from abstract, real art, and still paintings, model airplanes (which are works of art in their own right) and sculpture. Really shows off your command of paintings and control of colors with their hues and tones.
Don C, Comment for image # 3599103 May 16 09:47
That is cool!
ElbertC, Comment for image # 3599103 May 16 05:16
Nice work. I like it.

Sunday was art swap day. I traded a painting for this steel shield made by an old friend who now lives in Phoenix. It's made from a disc harrow.
