Took a couple of days off to paint the one on the left. |

Thanks! This is my first use of Tamiya masking tape, having used all the Pactra 1/8" I had on the Gee Bee, and I am very pleased with it. It's 3mm which is basically 1/8". It has a plastic feel and is quite flexible, even enough to mask an inside curve. |

Another beauty. I see you used the technique you told me about not having to paint the blue on the insignia. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience. |

As with the red on the Gee Bee, the blue is very translucent so the underpainting is blue with gray added. |

I love the early Navy jets...I have to get to that Tiger one of these days. |

Thanks, Ken. I built the Monogram Speed-E kit version when I was a teenager and loved it. There is a kit made these days by someone else which is basically the same as the Monogram and there is one on here somewhere. |

A work of art even before covering. I can remember being 9 or 10 and building this as a plastic model and it has always been one of my favorites. |

Covering is finished. The canopy is not covered and is being worked with gesso. It has about 5 coats of dope on it which will make it spend the night outside. Painting should start tomorrow. |
