Those critters you saw must have quit after one time. Otherwise they would have been Bactrian.

We're all a-bloom here in NW Oregon and have a record low snow pack in the mountains due to a warm winter. I don't know why those New England people are raising such a fuss.

It is nearly spring and yes, Bob, it's quite comfortable:-)

It was David in Morocco, not Harold in Italy. Wait, that's a viola...:-)

I think Dad means the English meaning of homely, David. :) http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/us/definition/american_english/homely

Very homely place there David!

Is it already Spring down there?
Xanadu, Comment for image # 3328024 Feb 15 19:28
At least that is what I told my friend Sailor Jerry and lil' buddy Coke.
David Duckett, Comment for image # 3326824 Feb 15 19:25
Why, trumpet, of course.:-)

Quite the adventure, and I think it will be well worth it. Nothing gets done some days without just plain trying.

One would be wrong. These days I treat myself to a cocktail with one shot of Grey Goose in the afternoon. This was done in about 20 minutes at 0300 over coffee. The recent spate of abstract works is being done without glasses and with the idea that I might doodle something I like well enough turn into a larger work. The combination of grey and green has always been attractive to me. I'm especially fascinated at painting something so minimalist. A much larger version is already in work:-) and will show up in a day or two.

One would think that maybe you have been indulging in a bit of wine lately.

What instrument did you play in the band? I played trumpet in a dance band for 3 years.

How much one can learn from such a cloud, beautiful.:-)

The Air Force band I was in, stationed at Torrejon AB, Madrid, Spain, made several trips to Morocco from 1960-1963 to play for base parades and dances at the service clubs on the three Air Force bases there. Nouasseur AB, Ben Guerir AB, and Sidi Slimane AB were built in the 50's and used as forward bases for B-50s and later B-47s. Years have fogged the memory of exact dates but not certain events. We played a couple of concerts in Casablanca at an international trade show as part of the US exhibit. The Russians were touting the first man to orbit the earth and displaying agricultural and other types of machinery. I'm not much into such things but it was impressive. Brute force comes to mind. The British exhibit was the first Jaguar XKE Coupe painted brilliant red. Prettiest thing I had ever seen! After the concert we went to the US Embassy in Rabat for cocktails and I was duly impressed. We once played at the wedding reception of some Moroccan Prince and it was an incredible experience but I have no idea why we were there. But the memory most lasting occurred on the road to Marrakesh for the wedding. Out in the middle of the desert, up ahead on the side of the road, were several men gathered round a pair of Dromedaries humping, cheering them on, I presume. The sight is still in my head:-)

And an albino at that! The progression of the blue is still the part I really enjoy.
David Duckett, Comment for image # 3326823 Feb 15 16:39
Definitely a Dromedary, Don.
bobgood, Comment for image # 3326823 Feb 15 11:38
Certainly a Dromedary Don!
