Hey. Wait a minute here. Seeing as how this is probably my most favorite stage of a model build, I didn't even read the comment till my 3rd or 4th view. I've just been staring at the picture. I do believe I have a new favorite, again. |

The cowlings on the Tigetcat are the same size as the cowling on the Bearcat and these are both 1/24 scale. |

I take no credit, this is a Guillows idea. |

NEATO, David. This is where I got hung-up last year...just at the time I had to put all my building on hold. Unfortunately it is still on hold. |

Power/mass: hp/lb (kW/kg)
2× Pratt & Whitney R-2800-34W Double Wasp radial engines, 2,100 hp (1,600 kW) each
Max takeoff weight: 25,720 lb (11,670 kg)
so:
4200hp/25,720lb
or
3200kW/11,670kg |

I wonder what the power to weight ratio is on that twin cat? It's got to be high. It's all engine! |

The basic fuselage |

The top & bottom keels and the side longerons are laminations of two 1/16" square sticks, a typical Diels design feature. |

What a great aircraft... That looks an amazing example of one, too. |

Super. Started mine a year ago but, due to "circumstances" all my modeling went on hiatus. Looking forward to watching yours progress. |
