Thanks very much, I am convinced that the spray gun is limited to smaller projects. Brushing leaves no mess, requires no newspapers and propellant at 10 bucks a can. I did pick up two more brushes today, just like the other two.

Well done!

I use only brushes. There are several folks on here who use an airbrush with acrylic paint. Pfinn comes to mind :=)

David - Do you hand paint or air brush as there is a medium for those Liquitex paints to thin for airbrushing?

I bought two Royal & Langnickel brushes that I think are the best I have ever used. Not a bad price either. 13 days free, no urge at all. The price of a pack in FL is over six bucks. I think I will get some of that Liquistuff and give it a shot.

It's worth it. Besides, you owe yourself a reward for stopping cigarettes, right? Think of it as a really good wine that will last awhile. And while you're there, get some very good brushes.

And both mediums are without parallel. It was pricey though, but my wife needs to get threads at Michaels tomorrow. No honey I would be glad to go 20 miles to look at thread.

DD, ;=), uses Liquitex Acrylic paints exclusively and have for over 40 years. It is high quality artist's paint which just happens to work on many surfaces other than canvas. It is sold at most artist supply stores as well as Michaels. There is a wide range of colors available but I stick with the basics. If you really want to be a purist about it, all colors can be made from red, yellow, and blue. Throw in some black and white and you can make any shade or tone of any color you want. And...I can use the same paint when the mood is canvas instead of balsa.

Bill, my wife did ask the same thing "That plane isn't wet is it?" I told her if I got paint on the couch I would just start running.

Acrylic is all I ever use anymore. Tamiya works for me, but Dave Duckett (I think it is DD)uses the stuff out of tubes sold at Michaels. It is very good quality, goes on as heavy as you want and I am going to try it. Name sounds like Liqui-something. Tamiya has a great range of colors.

Looking very sharp - nice work.

Economical and somewhat portable, this is what the people in Florida use.

This is two coats of Tamiya hi-gloss brushed on. I gave up on the spray paint plan since teh propellants kept freezing up. I used a high quality wide brush and was very happy with the results.

This is my version of a paintbooth

It was a pain but I really like the gull wing shape. The framing that Guillows designed is pretty solid. Sheeting in the topside really makes it heavy. I think I could make the table saw fly with less power.

Gull wings are a real PIA to build. Keep up the good work.
