I thought you were finished but this just keeps getting better! I looked back to see how you built the prop and nose cone, but they magically appeared a few photos back. Did you carve both from balsa? |

Col. Christian married a girl from my hometown, Miss Mary Lou Ashcroft. All his planes carried the name "LOU". His P-51D, "LOU IV", became the most photographed plane of WWII, most pics taken during one photo mission. He was CO of the 361st FG, The "Yellowjackets". Col. Christian was KIA on Aug.8, 1944 when he failed to pull out of a dive at the railyards in Arras, France. This model will be donated to the Hopkins County Museum of History in Sulphur Springs, TX.
