I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Shaped out the fuselage. Looks to "Chunky" in comparison to the...uhhh...delicate...airy(?). wings.

Beginning the Fuselage. Got out the old stuff to get some straight lines. Picked up all these Carpenter/Cabinet planes on ebay.de for around $100. Shipped! All the blades and wedges are there. Just a bit of TLC. And some serious re-grind on a couple. It's all good though. I've been acquiring and restoring many vintage hand tools over the past few years to use. nothing like "Hands-on" !

Be glad he taught you so well, Grasshopper!:-)

Oops...spelling error... You're right Don C.... Scythe.. There is something "Therapeutic" using a Scythe when it is fitted to you and very sharp. One peens the edge with a hammer to razor sharp, then a quick hone with a very fine stone. Razor sharp. Actually a bit scary. Probably illegal in California too ! haha. The rhythm and sound is almost addicting. I have European style Scythes. Very light. My Father grew up having to harvest with these. He's really knowledgeable. So much so, he liked to watch ME do all the work while he sat on the patio had his coffee and cake!! Hmmm...

While it's a lot more exercise, the scythe is safer than a power mower - quieter too. Use mine every summer.

I just hope you didn't operate that piece of self-power equipment in shorts and crocks! Seems like a good way to cut off something vital!

Truly a Renaissance Man!!

Learning to fly...HaHa...Funny...During my hiatus I jumped into the art of the Sythe. I made the "Snathe" (handle) out af laminated spruce. I mowed my Fathers lawn with it for a year and a half....before I jumped into my new life. Built that Cabin too.

Thank you, that's strange. I haven't been out of Tucson in six years. Someone tried to use my credit card yesterday to buy caviar in San Francisco! I doubt that it's mine.

Mr David duckett I'm a former employee at Rail City Casino in Sparks NV I found an I'd with ur name on it and turned it over to Jeff in security

Trimmed down. I'm also adding Carbon Fiber cap strips (1/16 x .008") to the diagonal ribs to stiffen up the VERY thin airfoil. Flutter is NOT good!!

I think I followed all of that, but I for sure understand refinishing the kitchen table. :)
pfinn, Comment for image # 4150307 Nov 19 08:03
Uhhh...re-finishing the kitchen table is on the "Honey-Do" list. :oD !

All up weight is now at 5 oz. including receiver and battery. Yay. Now the fuselage.
pfinn, Image # 4150207 Nov 19 05:18

The large Carbon tube is left long for now. This unit will be something like a cartridge that will be removable from the fuselage...well...because the servos are mounted inverted. A hatch on the bottom for access isn't really a good idea with no landing gear!!
pfinn, Image # 4150107 Nov 19 05:09

The larger tube I made from "Carbon Sleeve" fabric molded around a 5mm rod. The little spring just pushes the Bellcranks out into position. Titanium spring (I just happened to have some, so what the heck ;o ).

Parts. The side plates will be profiled after everything is test assembled. I wish to be able to disassemble the whole thing later to help facilitate repairs. In the past I've built all the radio gear and "Monkey Motion" into the model permanently and regretted it later.
pfinn, Image # 4149907 Nov 19 04:55

Rough Bellcranks. I will reinforce the disc mount with wrapped carbon tow to create fillets.

Since all my machines are still in the US I have to roll with what I have. Cordless drill and a Dremel. This is my substitute Lathe. HaHa
