Next is a coat of Dullcoat so the decals will adhere to the surfaces.

The painting is basically done.

With most of the details added the 109G-2 is off to the paintshop.

No, no Royal Albert from our window. However we have corner apartment and have completely different view from the other side, but the view is not as interesting as the one I put up.

Ah. Can you see the Royal Albert Hall as well?
jerry campbell, Comment for image # 1330415 Jul 09 10:12
The church spires (center)is actually the Natural History Museum, the large building in the background (on the right)is the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Cool view. What is the large building in the background, and the church spire?

Starting to look like a Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2. With a wingspan of 18 inches the Dumas kit is only slitly larger than 1/24th scale.

The Dumas kit trial fitting the major components and most of the detail taped on as well.

We've rented flat in London and will be here off and on for the next the couple of years providing our health holds up. This is the view from our 10th floor window.

super charger intake is finished

The pitot tube is made with brass tubing and the body of a building T-pin.

The engine mounted cannon firing through the spinner has been trial fitted, the wing radiators have been fitted and the super charger is finished.
jerry campbell, Image # 1324813 Jul 09 07:08

The radiators are fashioned from scrap balsa and faced with window screen.

The four seperate pieces of the tail feathers are covered in Jap Esaki tissue. Except for Diels kits I seldom use the kit supplied tissue.

The wing fits nicely. The two small nose scoops made from plastic tubing have been added to each side. The small intakes are one of the identifying features of the G series.

The 1/24th scale sheet of decals from Techmod along with their color reference sheet provides most of the color detail info needed.
