I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Legendary designer - but they meant the F6 Grumman Hellcat https://mobile.nytimes.com/1991/02/27/obituaries/robert-hall-dies-at-85-designed-f5f-hellcat.html

The plane has terrific lines - I’m going to do more research on Bert Hall.

No skateboards or bikes on the pier - but it is a nice walk and the little cafe serves fish n chips that are quite good

That is a pier and a half! Can you ride the bicycle along there? Nice place to unwind.

Ocean Beach pier today at around 1:pm - this is about a 2 minute bike ride from my house...something to do while glue or filler or sealer or paint dries

ok so you are using it as both light filler AND sealer - good to know as I was thinking about using strips of masking tape and laying them on to mask the fine white lines that border the black accents. It's either that or I can paint the tape white and just use it AS the pin striping...

I haven't tried clear over gesso but I see no reason it wouldn't work.

I like this Gesso filler - a lot. I am using it as filler after the spackling, shaping and sanding process. It goes on nice and silky with a good, 3/4" wide, flat brush. I hope I am using it correctly when I lay it on. Each coat is allowed to dry 24 hrs - then lightly block sanded with a 180, 220, 320 progression. I have applied 3 coats to the main fuselage assembly so far with the last coats only getting the 220, 320 sanding. Again all the major filling, shaping and sanding was done before the Gesso was ever applied. I have one question and I am assuming the answer is yes but : do I apply my clear sealer over the final Gesso coat (once completely dry) ? or does the Gesso work as both sealer and filler? This paint scheme will be the most difficult I have attempted to date and I am hoping to avoid any unexpected rework (not that it isn't often par for the course in my world lol)

I DO like the results with Gesso - thanks again for that tip, Mr Duckett !

I think she might just look ok when all is said and done...provided nothing gets sideways to the road etc..

test fitting things..lots of sanding still to do and I have one outer wing panel completed - just finishing the infill work on the other.

right - the engine is from ParkFlyer Plastics...those Williams Bros engines are nice but they're pricey and sometimes out of production. That was the case again this time - long leadtime. So I went this route and will do what I can to dress it up
