it looks spectacular in red David! and I've reset my laptop color to default... Have you got an image with that fabulous Williams Bros Wasp Jr featured?

It's Cadmium Red Medium Hue, about as red as it gets.

you have gotten the wing, fuselage and wheel spat masks aligned perfectly - and this shot, while not terrific from a pilot's perspective, really shows that off. Nice job on the reg. and race numbers too!

well executed paint job David - I love the blood orange color.. EDIT - when I saw these images on my laptop the color had a distinct orange tint - but on the PC monitor in my workshop it looks red. Guess I need to reset the laptop screen.

Very slick!

I used filler on the balsa inserts and sanded them smooth.

Gluing balsa pieces inside these kinds of plastic pieces helps when assembling them.

Paint Shop = Magic for your builds.

Each side of the fuselage was covered with one piece of silkspan.

The landing gear wire is sandwiched between 3 pieces of 1/16" stock. When they are sanded smooth I can add the wheel pants.

Overnight rain and lingering clouds this morning kept the temperature quite comfortable long enough for me to do all the covering. The rudder and elevators were done earlier.

Beautiful job, DD. I'm still in the process of infilling the Mustang. It's taking me a bit longer than anticipated due to my working schedules and family obligations.

ah..yes - the clear coat over the top is critical for these stickers to pass muster at all..
David Duckett, Comment for image # 4043526 Jul 18 10:52
No complaints about the quality but they are thick, I rarely clear coat, and they are a pain in the ass to cut out. As this will not be painted as the one and only Z model, I don't feel any obligation to duplicate it, which means I have no intention of painting all the small details on the real plane.

David, you mean my other mentor..? I know purists hate the peelie stickies - I even emailed Dumas to ask "Really??!" and "WHY?!" But I used them anyway A) because I wanted to model Lowell Bayles' mount and B) because I try to use the kit provided materials whenever possible. And I have been impressed by their quality for the most part. Sure they're a bit thick (like me) but they go on easy and clean and once they are under the clear coat you cant really tell the difference unless you look for it.
