I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

"Clamped with cuts down on flat surface (Note waxed paper) for a few hours.

Solution? Maybe. 3 cuts halfway through, bent over straight edge of table at each cut until it cracked a bit, Elmer's wood glue rubbed into each split (It doesn't shrink)

Brian, here's a warped horizontal stabilizer so you're not alone.

Sky, contact me at p51sally@hotmail.com and we'll set something up for the dental bits. And no, I haven't figured it all out yet. I'd like to do this part separate from the plane itself and then just mate them, but that means 8 struts have to be - well, we'll see.

Either that, or they flew in to admire your model.:)

Through the shop window as I was covering wings. Think I need a bigger bird feeder.

Don, if you still have some of the dental bits, I'd be very much interested in acquiring them. Sky

Thanks guys. Ray, we have a garden hose, but the best equipment is the Ram 2500 and the horse trailer. We're rural and even though it's thinned out and probably protectable, the only thing to do in case of a big fire is to leave. Oh yeah, and have good insurance.

By the way, excellent close up photo to reveal the detailing.

Don, I totally agree with you. Judging from the picture above, rigging up the floats will probably be a challenge. Have you figured out a way? From the looks of things, looks like a warren of struts thrown together, and then you've got the rigging....

Do you have equipment to (Heaven Forbid!) wet down you spread should fires come your way?

Been off-line for a couple of days! This is looking good Don - great job!

Thank you, Sky. The interesting part is going to be attaching the floats. There's almost as much rigging as one of your or John O's biplanes.

Very mild in comparison to the midwest. One 10 degree reading back in December. Most of Nov. and Dec. in the 20's. Snow total about 1.5 feet. The last 2 weeks have been in the 30's so there's only 4-5" left. Need a lot more to avoid a bad fire season. Only cleaned the driveway once :) :) :)

Good progress Don. How's winter out in your neck of the woods?

Wonderful story Don. Thank you for sharing with us. Ironic that you should reveal that Dan passed away a few years back and this photo shows -of all things- his Beaver with a cemetery in the background. I'm sure there's no connection here, but sometimes a picture becomes prescience without the photographer's knowledge.

Incredible build, "Mr." Don. Your workmanship is excellent. From the picture, it's hard to believe it's a Guillow's kit.
