James, some of these are in Guillows Stearman by mistake. Can I change them to the right category (Ace Sherman)? Thanks |

Staring down the business end of the Sherman. |

One tooth needs to be added, but you can see where the tracks are separated. |

The tools are removable until after painting. |

The tracks are in several segments. There's a strip for the top and bottoms, and one going around the return roller and two for the front drive. I can remove them to paint, and then will glue them in place. |

It took a bit of fitting, but I'm really happy with how the tracks fit around the drive wheel. |

It can be a bit tedious, but it beats yard work! I thought of a different method where all the teeth are one long laser cut, to be glued to the end of the track. I'll get that worked up and done for the 3/4" tanks. |

Ted, These are for the ACE Sherman, which is 1/24 scale. I also have them in 3/4" scale for the Rogers Sherman. I still need to send you that set.

Are these parts in 1/4 inch scale? What scale is the Ace Sherman kit? Beautiful work!! |

It looks like a lot of very tedious work |

"tread skid", not "tread skip". |

I also revised the bogie assemblies for the third time. This time most of the parts are laser cut. The tread skip up top, and the end pieces are folded paper. |

The tracks are 1/2"x1/8" basswood sandwiched between rectangular pieces of cardstock. Then I added the tread and the teeth. The teeth are each two parts. |

Laser cut and etched basswood I designed for the bogies and treads. |

One of the plot points in the movie "The Story of GI Joe", with Burgess Meredith as Ernie Pyle, was a sergeant trying to fix a Victrola so he could listen to a recording of his child's first words, all while the platoon was trying to take the monastery at Cassino in Italy. The mud, rain, blood and battle was taking its toll on the men. When he finally heard the recording, he cracked. A very emotional scene in a really compelling movie. |
