Its just tape on the canopy, haven't learned about liquid mask yet. As for the paint I'm thinking about somethimg from the 49th fighter group based in Australia during WW2. One of which Sweetwillie suggested is "The Texas Longhorn" flown by John D Landers.

Hey Scale Nut, Yes I did trim the formers for the ones that run the length. I ran the planking in these areas the full length because I thought it would be easier to get a smoother finish in the end than to run every section individually.

I notice in this photo that you have planked the fuselage. how is it that some planks run the entire length of the model? did you cut away at the formers for some reason? I am trying to learn this technique- thanks
