I really had this problem on the Taube. I got to the point where I put waxed paper down on my building board and used t-pins to hold the very edges down. Dope one side, let it dry, flip it over, do the other side. I'm using eze dope at 1:2(1 dope : 2 water) and put lots of coats on. It came out pretty flat overall.

A couple of drops of castor oil per ounce of nitrate dope and thinner will help.

Yes it does. I'm waiting to see if any one does have an answer. I just try not to get it too wet.

maybe you guys can help me? sometimes when i dope thin balsa areas like the elevator it tends to warp it. is there a way to avoid this? thanks, brian.

Brian this looks great. I see you applied tissue to the fuselage in sections and it's near perfect. I will try this on the one I am working right now.

thanks don! i just build it up with a balsa rear section canopy, as the plans show, looks sort of like a balsa roll cage.
Don C, Comment for image # 4303328 Feb 21 13:45
Looks good. What did you come up with for the back of the canopy?
