I had been working in Thai Maintenance center here (not seen in this photo) for more than a year after this airport was opened. Then I retired. Missing the old one.

David, your are right. With a little help of tail-wind south of Japan-BKK, we've made it 1/2 hr before schedule.Fuel burn 135 metric tons. Suffering jet-lag, BKK is 14hrs ahead of Pacific standard time. Love your sub ribs.

If you are ever in Chicago, you owe it to yourself to see the Chicago Art Institute Museum. Full of iconic paintings from almost every genre, including American Gothic, Ed Hopper's Nighthawks, several Mondrian's, the Monet Haystack series. Just amazing. And then go to the Museum of Science and Industry. Try walking into the U-505 exhibit and not have your breath taken away the first time you round the corner and see the bow of the sub.
