Finished. Can't find three guns but it's done.

Very nice! I am liking how the weathering and decals turned out.

Nosiree. That's a Russian painted star, same as the bottom left. The others were from Bell and over-painted on delivery. Odds and ends are wing flaps(permanent), canopy (lift off), install the guns and Rechkalov's initials to the "rear" of the fuse stars. Maybe two days now that I think of it. F-15 Eagle plans are already under review.

Will those odds and ends include the decal on the right wing?
moostang51, Image # 2175621 Mar 11 15:37

Tomorrow paint the canopy and some odds and ends.

The brake flap area and wheel wells are okay. Panel lines are still iffy. Good thing is that the water colors simply wipe off. Going to explore other options for the grey.

Because the panel lines were marked into the balsa and not taped into the primer coat, the wash will need another coat.

The brown/black wash.

Watercolor wash of brown, black and dark green mixed for panel lines. Wanted to check in natural light so I had my daughter hold it as it's quite windy today.

As it stands right now, 1.85oz placed on the cowling makes the nose wheel touch down. Lots of solid carved balsa and sheet styrene pieces were used to the rear of the c of g. Excellent weight calculation James.

If this is roughly 1/24, 1.6oz of lead (scale weight of the Allison V-1710) in the middle should balance it!

Beautifully executed.

Should read "removable" from base.
moostang51, Image # 2170618 Mar 11 16:10

As Poppy says "Stratching her legs". The plan is to add weight to the nose by filling the cowling with silicone caulk and lead weight prior to setting the prop.
moostang51, Image # 2170518 Mar 11 16:04

Spring tension against lower linkage. Now positioned at rest.

Landing gear is removal from base. Need hydraulic lines to disc brakes.
