I can't believe how stupid I am.
sweetwillie, Image # 820204 May 08 21:25

Well, back to the repair shop. But not for awhile. I'm too mad now.

I just noticed that the left nacelle points to the left. How many times have I looked at it and never noticed it. D_ mn! Has that ever happened to anybody else? I'll bet not.

You are doing fine! Keep it up.

I'm excited about having it and the work station. If I can just learn how to use it. I suppose it comes with practice.

It didn't scan as dark as the real one. that's black on the upper surface and a light bluish grey and the underside is white.

The color scheme I'll use on the Mosquito.

This is where you can find out what a Dremel tool is really capable of. Taking the time to make pattern following jigs for the Dremel will allow you to crank out multiples of the same component exactly alike. For example, you can use the spiral router bit and a pattern to cut out a stack of identical wing ribs from balsa the same way you would use a full sized router with a pattern to cut ribs for a real airplane from plywood. I have saved many small pieces of hardwood and high-grade plywood from past cabinet making projects (Much to my wife's bewilderment.) and now I can use these to make all kinds of fixtures for the Dremel and my other power tools when I want to produce multiples of the same part. You make the same kind of fixtures that you would for full size shop tools, only Dremel sized and they work fine.

That Dremel came in handy, I had tried to do them by hand before, and I couldn't get any two to match. With the Dremel, they came a lot closer to matching.

6 bladed prop, anyone? Still needs some sanding and yellow tips. But it's the first set of props that I've built. Not too bad. Huh?

By bog, I assume you mean a filler. It's already done. Thank you. Rod.

Nothing a bit of bog can't fix.

I've only had the power tool about a month, and I don't know how I was able to model without it. It enables me to do tasks that I just couldn't do. I just called Dremel about the accesories that i couldn't use because the threads were wrong, and they gave the threading on it and suggested that I re-thread it. It's worth a try. I hope it works, because everytime I change a cutting disk, I drop the screw or washer or keep fumbling with my fat fingers. It's frustrating.

I love Dremel tools. I have two motor tools, one plug-in and the other cordless, and a bench top jig saw with a grinding wheel and flex shaft attachment. The cordless motor tool seems to do everything as well as the plug-in one but there is a definite time limit on some of the heavy power using accessories such as the circular saw. I use the plug-in one, with the screw-on polishing wheel shaft, as a face lathe to turn spinners and wheels. The mini router/shaper table works well also. You might try a few home made mountings for it to make things like a disk sanding table. They'll probably bury you before you discover all the things you can do with it, models, household repairs...it's endless.

My power tool isn't a Dremel,it's a chinese knock off, it came with a flexi-shaft and 40 other attachments, but I've since ordered a couple of chucks to keep from having to use the small wrench and the trouble of changing cutting discs from Dremel that haven't fit the flexi-shaft, the threads don't match up. So far that's the only problem I've found with the chinese knock-off. It fits the Work Station perfectly.

dremal is the best in mini type tool, are you able to use a flexy shaft with that
sweetwillie, Comment for image # 811201 May 08 13:30
A circular saw attachment is the next thing I'm going to hope for. I haven't really started experimenting with this yet, I'm buliding the Mosquito. Maybe this weekend.
