When it dries, I'll sand it, hope I only have to do it once. I've gor rheumatoid arthritis and my shoulder hurts like hell when I have to sand more than 5 minutes |

The engine nacelles, first fill, I'll fill it again and try to get rid of the spaces between the sheets. |

You can see the bend. But what an improvement from when it started |

I've filled and sanded it three times, and took out most of the gaps and humps in it. I think there's still a slight bend to the left, but I'm going to live with it. It was a difficult fuse to build anyway. I've never seen one like it. |

Thats one thing nice about using body filler you can build up the filler and shape it to take out any twist. |

Sincerely think...that is! |

Gee...wish I had an air brush!!! Willie there are more than one way to fix thi minor problem but I sincerely thick that dipping the fuse in sealer will not help. |

I'm with you David. I don't think it's that bad. And, as you told me the other day, it's about practice and learning. I just air brushed 3 coats of sanding sealer, when that dries, I'll start filling and sanding. |

Honestly, I think I would just start sanding and filling. The top former (between the 1 and 2 inch marks, looks out of alignment relative to the rest and that can be compensated for. I suggest you sand down the front sheeting to be level with the former and then see how it looks. I personally would not keep trying to straighten the fuse but rather think about adapting the other structures to it. |

The second or the third, It looks like after the 3rd former is where it starts to curve. How much of a wedge, about 3/16 or 1/8? |

No problem, it is receational and theraputic! |

Cut the fuse two strips back from the pit. Make a former circle and taper itlike a wedge. Glue the whole thing back straight. Fill and sand and it will be beautious! |

I sure have a lot of filling and sanding to do. |
sweetwillie, Image # 8051 | 27 Apr 08 18:38 |
AFTER. What do you think? I think it's still curved. I put 1/16 balsa on the right side looking aft, If I put another1/16 there I think it wouldn/t look right. What do you think John and Poppy and DD |

Well, patience isn't my strong suite, I've already beefed up the left side with 1/16 balsa. I suppose that if that doesn't work, I'll cut the fuselage where the curve begins and rebuild it. Let's hope this works. |

poppy is correct...I have cut my planes apart for ease in building. Cut the fuse behind a former the reglue it with spacers to take up the slack...it should work fine. |

John, I think you need a new keyboard. The one you have doesn't spell very good. Mine has a bad habit of doing that, so I'm forced to proofread a lot.If I can put that practice into my modeling, it'll improve greatly. |
poppy, Comment for image # 8045 | 27 Apr 08 14:39 |
Cut the fuselage at the last sheet, reposition and glue. It's just wood so should be no problem. |
