Main barrel and cooling fins being assembled. Fins were made from half-round plastic strips

To save a lot of hassles of sanding, filling, priming and sanding again, I simply wrapped thin plastic around the "body"

Basic parts of the machine gun laid out.

Cutting out different sized plastic tubing for the barrel. The balsa "breech" is just below the tubing

Sorry guys, I thought I had uploaded the steps on making the top wing Lewis machine gun. This is the body of the gun being cut out of a sheet of balsa

LoL... loved those responses. To Huey: Bugs? The model is now in the hands of my daughter who is a nurse practitioner and she hates bugs... Sorry. Rayl, feathers lodged within the flying wires is a great idea. Why didn't I think of that during the build? Will remember during my next build of the Boeing F4B biplane. Since it'll be a naval plane, gotta look for the Seagull brand of feathers. FireBird, I sincerely thank you. The model is dedicated to everyone on the VA. Biplane and Briand, thank you both. You are my inspiration. Thanks guys..

Biplane, I believe they're priced according to the quantity ordered. I truly can't give you a fixed amount because they offer the rigging in different sizes and with or without clevises. This is a sampling and just the sampling cost me $20.00 including postage. So, I would say in aint cheap. On the other side, they're more realistic and functional for those who wish to fly their models.

Wish I had seen those a couple of builds ago. Are they expensive?

Notice too, how the ends are rounded for either insertion to the model or for threading the clevis ends. This is the smallest scale they can make it. The one marked M1.6 is 1.3mm in size. Hope all this helps.

In the previous posting, you can easily compare its size to my Guillow's PT-17 rigging.
