I started around June thinking that I would have plenty of time, but work got in the way for two months so I found myself doing a lot of work in the last few days and right up till 11pm when I stopped working so I could clean up and take photos. Maybe next year I'll start before June just in case I need the time.

Beautiful looking model and it flies too. Nine minutes before the end of the Challenge is cutting it a little close, but you made it. This year it was a real challenge. I hope you had fun with it.

excellent job Steve. You came through in the end. Beautiful finish

Thanks guys, the prop is for display only. For flying I have been using a 7x5 APC prop but am going to try 8" props with a 2S battery when I get the opportunity.

Beautiful Steve. Is that the prop you are flying with?

Nicely done, Steve.

The other photo for the "G challenge", this is the cleanest my desk has been all year.

One of the pictures submitted for the contest. I am pleased with the results, but next year I really must give myself more time to spend on the details so that I won't feel so rushed.

This is going to finish great Steve, and really set that Mustang off. Good Luck.

Thanks, hopefully the Guillow's judges will agree with you.

Looks fine to me!

No power tools here save my dremel, but then I am only using balsa and not a hard wood that is actually hard.

Ready for more sanding, sealing, finish sanding, and paint. Hopefully I can get it finished in time and it will look close enough to the real deal.

I use a small belt sander. It usually takes from 1 to 2 hrs.

Made two photocopies and glue-sticked them to the wood sticks. Most of the roughage around the edges was cut off with a knife and now to do some dremel work. Thanks for the tips guys, this is not a task I am familiar with.

Hic-cup. Cut out the protos. Then a glue stick, a dremel, and assorted grades of sandpaper. You've built a beauty this far, so don't fret it now. Oh, BTW......more like 6 Coronas.

Hopefully a diet coke will work just as well. I warmed up by making the aerial post, I guess it is time to quit stalling and just make shavings and sawdust.

Grab a Corona and start carving! ;-{)
