Thanks, Poppy. I'm at a work stoppage until it gets warm again but these breaks give me time to think about what else has to be done and how to do it.

The code LTH is ficticious, chosen only for ease of painting.

I seal the edges of the tape with the rounded end of a small brush pressing down on the edge where the paint will be.

JFB as we all say!

DD, I've had the masking tape loosen a couple of times. Do you seal it with clear or use anything other than just the tape? And by the way, that plane is gorgeous.

*Canopy...

Yes, the colors are very pleasing to my eyes too! Sorry about my "senior's moment" when I wrote the word "spray" below. I already knew you were an experienced, ardent, acrylic brush painter for many, many years, but I forgot...

Color wheels are great but your analysis is much more complicated than I think. As a primitive, untrained, artist I paint much the same way people who can't tell a sharp from a flat play music. Green is a tricky color, especially when it comes to camofuflage. I don't care for the darker greens called for and care less whether it's correct. I do care that the overall effect is pleasing to the eye. I have no idea what the value is for any of the colors used here. For the green I mixed the darker shade of gray into Permanent Sap Green to take it away from a John Deere green to a more muted color. I then added Raw Sienna to take it towards a yellow. I don't measure anything for this, just mix until the color looks right. It is true that I often mix way too much paint but that's why I have a huge stash of canvases. The light green band at the back of the invasion stripes is also Sap Green but mixed only with white. Remember that these photos are taken with a halogen lamp as the light source and that adds a yellowish tint. I'll take some shots outside in natural light later so you can see the real color.

It looks like the grey color on the nacelle is a value of 8 on the "Gray Scale". What would you say?
LASTWOODSMAN, Comment for image # 3724523 Nov 16 17:02
David! - that shiny, sleek, striking color of green is really bringing your Mossy to life! I had to try to figure out that color by consulting my color wheel (guide to mixing color). Is that color, a I' Primary color "Yellow" mixed with a II' Secondary color "Green", to produce a III' Tertiary color "Yellow-Green" color, which is then shaded (darkened) by adding black, to get that color of green? What would be the considered gray scale value for that shade of Yellow-Green? A value of 4?

Wow!!!! DD at his best here. Wonderful David.

Yes. The plans come with the parts drawn on separate sheets. The build instructions are on and around the edges of the plans.

Hi David - does this Cleveland Plan show the full size outlines of formers, ribs, and all parts, and all the information to build a wheels down model? If so, I will have to give John Jacox a phone call.
