I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

John, that engine and cowl are really something. The whole thing is looking great.

A dry fitting to see if everything works....thus far OH KEE DO KEE!
John M Oshust, Image # 1100726 Feb 09 18:50

I plan on sheeting the remainder of the fuse tomorrow, then address the design and fabrication of the lower wing fillet.....better wear my hat!

Neato!!! Transparent might be an interesting way to present the finished model.
John M Oshust, Image # 1100326 Feb 09 14:41

The wings are complete. The middle wing has been sealed. Makes the poly-span transparent.

Atrimmed wing in a half hour. Poly-span ranks up there on my WOODY list. Matches fire arms, antique tractors, gardening, and thong panties!

Just when I thought I knew everything that cases me to get a "WOODY!", along comes poly-span. The upper wing covered in one piece!

Actually it is hollow, solid surfaces.
JohnG., Comment for image # 1099926 Feb 09 12:30
Nicely done, John. Is that a solid wing tip???
John M Oshust, Image # 1100026 Feb 09 12:10

The middle wing is covered. Now that I have learned how to use this covering, on the the upper and largest wing.

Me thinks the results speak for themselve. If you follow the natural curl of the poly-span the dull, fuzzy side, will always be down.

I also just started using Polyspan and found two things to watch out for. There is a right and wrong side. The wrong side has tiny threads that stick out, that only really become noticeable when you paint it. Also, don't sand it, it will fray and make a mess.

Looks good! But then I thought the first attempt looked good!
John M Oshust, Image # 1098925 Feb 09 18:58

One of those days when everthing went well. I started sheeting the fuse. Made sure the central foil fit and called it a day....a 9 hr. day!

Great idea for wintertime projects....what about summer? Looks sweet.

"Hat's off to ya" John. Great work!

Hey,that's what I used on my bf-109. Fun stuff. But the grain direction really makes a big difference and I've heard it may sag quite a bit in heat. I guess we'll find out!
John M Oshust, Image # 1098725 Feb 09 15:57

Poly-span...looks like silk span, applied with dope like silk span, but you shrink it with a heat gun. Not too shabby for my first attempt.
John M Oshust, Image # 1098625 Feb 09 15:55

The lower wing drying after a coat of sealer on the poly-span.
