Added some 1/32" Bass to the perimeter of the fin and contreol surfaces prior to attachment for "Ding" resistance and to help while sanding in an airfoil shape. |

Back on the wing jig for final glue-up. A nice thing about using the "Gator Board" for a building board is one can cut it easily with a sharp hobby knife. Since my wing and control surfaces are already attached, this came in very handy. It'll help to keep the specified wash-out when covering as well. I'm gald I took the time to make a good and permanent wing jig |

I cut the replacement rib oversize and sand to match. Some tape on th neighboring ribs protects them from from the block. |

Clean up the unaffected areas and make replacement parts. During this repair I also became the official armorer (repair man) for a large scale "Khight" battle going on between my son and his friends. 7 swords, 2 staffs,3 heads, and 2 hands. Definately not a nice day in "Camelot"! |

I knocked a big cooler bin off a high shelf directly on to my 2/3rds finished Catalina. Had to start over - cried for days. |

ouch! I dropped my glue bottle on a wing when I was building the Monocoupe...now I'm much more careful! Hope it's an easy fix for you. |

Lesson learned. Check above the place one sets a model for precariously perched heavy objects. They may decide to jump and ruin your day! Wing rebuild time. Already fixed the fuselage damage. |

Everytime I visit my Dad's I seem to find something squirreled away in some forgotten box from my distant past. These predate the Gypsy Moth I built. |

Joined the wings to the fuselage. Needed to move the main spar position to make room for the radio gear. Used a 3/32" x 1/4" spruce stick tapered to 1/8" at the outermost end with a center scarf joint. 1/64" ply reinforcement. |

Whoo Hee!! Scored a sack of shorts and seconds in spruce for a song. Super spar stuff, surely..... Sorry, couldn't help it. 12" to 18" L , 1/8"sq to 1/4" x 5/8". |

I like to keep the surfaces planar and edges sharp while shaping to help get everything "Even Steven" and also to see the "Lines" better before blending. |
