Making brackets for the rigging between the outer struts

Actually, I pre-drilled the short stubs prior to gluing them to the large main tube which will be the long portion. I only showed it here to illustrate what I did to allow for the reinforment wires to go inside.

To: Biplane, Don C, Rayl, Dfell, john O, and Meku, you guys are what inspired me to pursue my dreams and challenge myself. This model is dedicated to you. I've looked at all your posts, and there's inspiration from each. I'm truly honored by your comments as I (we all) knew what it takes to make a good model. Thank you

Looking good, Sky.

Forgot to mention, that it makes sense to lay the fuselage on its side to install the exhaust manifold. That was the main reason why I held off installing the lower wing center section. After the left side is installed, comes the lower wing section.

Right side exhaust manifold is installed along with the associated brackets and supports.

Seem to work. The flat black over a copper base gives off a nice "burnish" result that replicates the exhaust of the real aircraft.

Decided to try something different. Giving it a base coat of copper. Then highlight with flat black over coat. Read a lot about this in model magazines, might as well give it a try.

Decided to emulate the thin metal flange and rivets. Using MicroMark's rivet decals on glossy paper for the metal flange.

A close up of the exhaust manifold from a different perspective to highlight some of the detailing.

Compare to the full-sized aircraft. Just a little bit more detailing before installing to the model.

Not bad. As you can see, it might be a good idea to install the exhaust prior to the outer wing panels and their associated rigging.

Close up of trail fitting. Had to make sure that the small exhaust stubs lined up with the exhaust outlets of the engine. You can see notice the small gaskets.
