Make sure you put oil stains on it when your done. Radials don't leak oil, they just mark their territory.

How did you end up making the cylinder heads? All is incredible.
Creosotewind, Comment for image # 3741607 Dec 16 09:23
WOW.

Thanks Guys-:)! Huey; it is about 1/14 scale. THAT is traceable to my printing out the plans and not checking the dimensions until I had built half of the model. Richard, Yes, there are more things to add.

My... look at that! I'm guessing this is just test fitted? Because you still have to put the wiring harnesses on the front and back going to two spark plug holes per cylinder head?
Huey V77, Comment for image # 3741606 Dec 16 19:27
That is sweet, what scale is it?

Rayl, followed all of your previous posts. Looks like the Loening is going to be a real classic build. Beautifully done. I don't have a lathe in my small apartment, but really admired your approach to the cylinders. Great idea! You've got a lot of people's attention with this one.!

Richard: I started out drafting for a local Mfg plant, before 'Nam changed my plans, so I too can really appreciate the finesse of a old-school drawing. Hopefully I can get the Loening finished before too long.

Hey rayl - I bought 14 plans from John Jacox @ Cleveland including the Loening C-2C, plus I have 30 free plans printed out from Outerzone, plus 30 kits on the wall still to build (I have only built 20 kits so far). I've gone way overboard! I'm doomed! But I really do like looking at the old hand drawn plans with such great details, and with their perfect Gothic block lettering handwriting, when a draughtsman's penmanship was a feat of artistic wizardry all unto itself. And now I have a digital camera .... I'm going to "chicken out" and just watch you build your Loening so I know how to build one!
